We need a location for Monday, and Steve Conran needs prayer

I talked to Steve Conran today. He's still sick. He has diverticulitis, is meeting with the doctor on Friday, and might have to get surgery if the pills that he's on do not work. Please pray for his healing.

Also, he was scheduled to host our group on Monday (5/18), but now is not able to host. Would someone else be willing to host on Monday?

Hello men,

Happy new year! Tom and I have been talking, and we’re going to have a get-together on January 19 to celebrate the completion of Heart of a Warrior.

I feel that our group ended abruptly. I know that we were scheduled to have a celebration in November that got cancelled. Let's get a celebration back on the calendar. Does January 19 work for everyone? It sounds like it works for Dan Hay. . .so we could celebrate the completion of Heart of a Warrior and Dan could let us know about Focus of a Warrior.

Next Meeting: 4/28 (Meetings)

Gentlemen-

We had a wonderful time of discussion and honest sharing last meeting. It's been too long since we've been in Victory Over the Darkness. We're wrapping up our discussion of our central beliefs, and will be moving on to discuss our core values.

Please be there a few minutes before 7:00, so that we can start on time. At the beginning of our next meeting, I want everyone who hasn't shared any central beliefs. Feel free to use the chart that I distributed (and that is located on our web site), or any other method (journaling, blogging, hammer and chisel on a flat rock) to record:

• Behaviours that you and others have observed
• The corrupted belief reflected by those behaviors
• A Godly belief to replace the corrupted belief.
• Scripture that describes the Godly belief
• New actions to reinforce the Biblical belief

After that discussion, we will pray aloud through the prayers on pages 70-71. In the time remaining, we'll start on Chapter 8 of HOAW.

Please continue to lift each other up in prayer. I firmly believe that the enemy has stepped up its attacks on all of us because we're taking stands in the name of Christ, taking back territory in our lives that had been freely relinquished. Satan will hit each of us where an attack will be most effective in an attempt to distract, intimidate and dissuade us from our ultimate goal: a deep, loving relationship with our Father, reflected by a Godly lifestyle.

Take care in the next week, and be sure to check up on each other. Make sure that you've got someone's back, and that someone has yours.

Tonight's (3/31) Meeting Cancelled (Meetings)

After talking with Dan (and almost rear-ending someone on my way home), we decided to call the meeting off for tonight. There's no sense in running the risk of someone getting hurt.

We'll meet again in two weeks, on April 14th. In the meantime:

• Go over the article Doctrine and Ethics again. If you need to get a copy, look below under the posting "Chapter 7 Attachment".
• If you haven't done so yet, prayerfully fill out the Central Belief worksheet that I handed out at the last meeting (once again, if you didn't get a copy, look below). I don't expect everyone to have five central beliefs that they are working on; two or three is enough. But be sure and come up with scriptures that address your corrupted belief, and concrete steps listing how you are going to live out your Biblical belief. And, give some thought about how God can heal the corrupted beliefs.
• Be ready to discuss the last part of Chapter seven in the HOAW manual.
• If we have time, I'd really like to take a few minutes and discuss chapter 7 in Victory Over the Darkness.
• Be sure and get together with your accountability partner(s) in the meantime. If you have time, talk about what beliefs you're wrestling with.
  
• Also, I'll be posting on the website some discussion fodder in the next couple of days. If you're looking for something to discuss, drop by and leave your thoughts.

Please be ready to discuss the Battle Plan from chapter 6 of the HOAW manual; that will be what we start with and focus on. We'll start on Chapter 7 and get through as much as we can, but I want to give as much time as possible to the battle plan. That being said, please take time to read the article Doctrine and Ethics by Alistair McGrath. This was emailed to you earlier this week; also, here is a link to it.

I realize that we haven't talked about Victory Over the Darkness in a couple of sessions. We'll play that by ear.
